Filter button after ALFF/fALFF band

Submitted by gergo7633 on

Dear Experts,

I'm quite new to DPARSF and try to do an ALFF/fALFF analysis to feed the results into a paired statistical test (session difference).

I'd like to know what does the blue filter button do after the ALFF/fALFF radio button and band.

If I mark it, the filter part (5 lines above) becomes active and shows the band's lower and upper cutting points in blue.

If i got it right it is not needed to do a band pass filtering before ALFF and one must not do it before fALFF processing. So it rises the question why I have that radio button there, what does it do (and when).

Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, you are right, filtering should be performed after ALFF/fALFF.

If you only do ALFF/fALFF analyses, you don't need to check the filter box.

If you want to perform funcitonal connectivity anlaysis later, then you need to check the filter box. It uses the parameters set in the previous blue edit boxes. (Only the band's lower and upper cutting points parameters in the early blue box were used. Filter is not performed that early as that checkbox is not checked.)
