Motion scrubbing problem

Submitted by Dina Dajani on

Hello,

I am trying to perform motion scrubbing on my already preprocessed data (nuisance regressed, normalized, filtered [FunImgARCFW]).  When doing this, DPARSF-A starts to perform the scrubbing, it only creates folders for about half of my sample and then only scrubs a couple files then stops completely.  It appears as if it is still running, but no files are being created and there is no more text appearing in the matlab workspace  No errors appear.  Do you know what the problem could be?

I have attached a photo of the matlab workspace after it appears DPARSF-A stops running.

Thank you for any help,

Dina Dajani

Hi Dina,

A guess is that the motion is too big, that all the time points were scrubbed according to your threshold.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.  I looked into it more closely and found that the problem is with using scrubbing and the "nearest neighbor" interpolation method.  If I use the "cut(delete)" method, scrubbing works fine.  If there is even one timepoint above my motion threshold, it will not be scrubbed with nearest neighbor.  Perhaps this is a bug in the gui?  Thanks for any more information!  I very much appreciate your help and reply.

Hi Dina,

Nearest Neighbor is not a good interpolation method. And it fails if the scrubbed time point it the first orl the last time point.

Actually, there is not literature testing these scrubbbing interpolation methods. Thus I don't recommend you use that if you are not doing a methodological study.
